BlackBerry Cell Phone's New App World Sets High Standards and Prices

Recently, Research In Motion (RIM) announced its Application store for BlackBerry devices in similar fashion to Apple's popular App Store for iPhone Applications for your Blackberry cell phone, prices will go up by a dollar from .99 to .99. After that, they'll increase in increments of , from .99 to .99; with the maximum price for an app from the BlackBerry App World is 9.99 (that has to be some app).

BlackBerry App World will probably be preinstalled in the upcoming RIM devices, but for now will be downloadable. While the future of downloadable apps for BlackBerry cell phones looks bright, it also looks quite costly. It seems these days that every cell phone manufacturer is doing all they can to knock the iPhone down a notch. The actions of RIM seem that they may be counterproductive, but then again, only time will tell.

Discover the Benefits of Blackberry and Android

Tables are turning in the mobile space as Google's Android Operating System (OS) is taking the US and global markets by storm. According to Neilsen consumers are twice as likely to choose the Android OS over Apple's iOS. The three leading OS are Android, Apple's iOS and Blackberry's RIM.

The overall US smartphone market share is as follows:

Create An Iphone App

· 37% Android

· 27% iPhone

· 22% Blackberry

That's not to say that Blackberry isn't a good choice. Amongst the corporate sector RIM is still the phone of choice. This is largely due to the robust, compact and practical design of Blackberry phones. The best feature of the Blackberry is the physical QWERTY keyboard. This popular keyboard, particularly on the Bold and Curve, makes text messaging and emailing quick and easy due to the well-designed layout out. Blackberry Enterprise Server (BES) is the most trusted platform amongst businesses' to synchronize work email, calendar appointments, and contact information. Blackberry Messenger (BBM) is a popular social communication app that allows you to send text, pictures, and video/ sound clips via BBM's instant messaging system. This feature has made Blackberry a popular phone among younger generations.

For those of you that relish staying up to date with the latest technology Android is the phone for you. Due to the open source nature of the Android operating system and Google's impressive architecture behind Android, the platform has grown quickly to be the most popular mobile operating system. With more than forty Android phones for you to choose from in the US, produced by a wide variety of manufactures such as HTC, Samsung, Google, Nexus, LG, Motorola, etc., there is likely to be a phone that fits your needs and taste.

The open source design has resulted in a secure Android platform. This is due to the thousands of programmer's eyes checking and rechecking the code while they create new features to enhance the platform. Android's emphasis on creativity enables developers quickly develop new and interesting apps. The Android regulates the platform to a minimal extent to ensure it is stable and secure. For the real tech savvy you have the option to 'custom ROM' you system, enabling you to download new software versions and customize your Android phone exactly to your liking. There are around 100,000 apps available in the Android App Market. This might seems limited in comparison to Apple's 300,000 apps.

However, the reality is that both app markets have long since reached their critical mass. Meaning there is an app for almost anything you can think of in both markets. When it comes to browsing the web, no one does it better than Android. Android phones have the largest display screens and are the only phones to run on 4G. 4G connectivity is the quickest mobile network for browsing the Internet. The next operating system expected to run on 4G is Blackberry's RIM operating system with the Bold 9900 (expected to launch at the end of Summer).

Both Android and Blackberry phones are very reasonably priced if you buy your phone on a two contract. The high-end Android phones are more expensive than the Blackberry phones. Blackberry and Android have entry level phones available on two-year contracts from the major mobile providers for no initial cost.

The long and short of it is - if you want a phone with excellent multimedia capabilities (browsing the web, downloading apps, music, etc) then go for the Android. There is a wide range of devices to choose from, so most likely you will find a phone that fits your taste and price range. If a practical, robust and secure phone, with an excellent physical keyboard, appeals to you, then consider a Blackberry phone.

Blackberry Torch Release - What Is A Smartphone Anyway?

The latest Blackberry has just been released in time for Christmas. Called the Blackberry Torch, it is the latest smartphone to hit the shelves. If you happen to be wondering what a smartphone is - you are not alone. Join me in finding out what the Blackberry Torch is all about and what a smartphone is anyway.

Many people nod their head wisely when people speak of the latest smartphones, but in reality have no idea what the product is. A smartphone is a mobile phone with attitude. It is a handheld computer system inside a mobile phone which offers the ability to connect to the internet anywhere that has internet access.

Create An Iphone App

The first smartphone was unveiled in 1993 by IBM and contained an address book, world clock, calendar, note pad, email, calculator, fax and games. This mobile office also happened to be a mobile phone - but without the buttons. Relying on touch-screen to use the Applications, the technology was unheard of at the time and was truly forward thinking. (The touch screen worked by adding information through a virtual keyboard and function buttons).

Having begun the trend, many big names produced their own version of the same (with and without buttons) - until 2007, when Apple introduced the iPhone. This was based on the iPod and was almost an entire multi-function computer that happened to make phone calls. It also included other features such as a camera and music player.

Back to the present and the Blackberry Torch. Competing alongside the Galaxy 5, EV04G, and iPhone 4, it measures 111 x 62 x 14.6 mm, (4.4-inches top to bottom and 2.4-inches across when closed). The handset weighs 161.1g and the phone packs 512MB of RAM and 4GB of hardwired storage. Features include a slide out QWERTY keyboard, large touchscreen pad, 5 megapixel 'zero shutter' camera with image stabilization and auto-focus and a customizable homescreen. It comes loaded with the Blackberry 6 operating system and enables shortcuts to apps, texts and emails and any of the social bookmarks you need.

The other feature that sets the smartphone apart from mobile phones is the price - the Blackberry Torch will set you back 569.99. Much admired and desired as a must-have, smartphones are destined to remain on the wish-list for the vast majority.

All this technology was truly life-transforming, allowing business people the world over release from board-room tyranny. It meant that business could be conducted anywhere in the world with internet access, any time of the day or night.

As always, life-transforming technology comes with life-transforming options. Many people have a dream to escape the rat-race and start their own home based business. They have a vision to build a different, better life that gives them better choices. If you are considering a different life, click on the following link now. http://www.earnyourwealth.co.uk The iMMACC internet centre has been created to offer a serious solution to the "what business can I run from home?" question. I hope this article on the Blackberry Torch release has helped you find out what a smartphone is anyway!

Which One Is The Best - The Blackberry Or The iPhone?

Debates create challenging conversations. When you go mano a mano you could win, you could lose or you could just agree to disagree. In the arena of mobile phones there is a singular debate that continues to rage on and is one which may could never be settled - and that is is the iPhone superior to the Blackberry? Each of these phones has its devout followers, but if you are sitting on the fence what would need to know to make you jump down and choose one or the other?

At its most basic it boils down to what you want out of a phone. Is it mainly for business or simply for pleasure? The Blackberry was designed specifically for the business world and is -at time of writing- the UK's best selling Smartphone. It's extremely reliable, easy to use and has plenty of office Applications, making it an useful extension of your desk at work. But if you're after tons of cool features and more apps to choose from than you could possibly ever use, then the iPhone is best. The iPhone is a prestige phone and is basically a complete entertainment centre in the palm of your hand. Apart from the standard making calls, picture and video messaging, additionally you can also download music, stream video, order a takeaway, make a restaurant reservation, get directions, find out about the weather, enjoy games, even read barcodes and scan goods for your next supermarket shop - the list is almost endless! Truly there is an app for everything, and if there isn't then the chances are it's already being worked on!

Create An Iphone App

Making the most of technology, the touchscreen and motion sensing capabilities of the iPhone is particularly notable. This makes it an ideal gadget for gaming and for simple consumer interaction and of course satisfaction. The advanced technology of the iPhone puts it far ahead of its challengers in the market. However some of the newer Android phones in the smartphone market are nipping ever so much faster at their heels!

The iPhone does have more storage space, a quicker CPU and more RAM than a Blackberry, but it is also noticeably more fragile. Drop it once and you can easily shatter that gorgeous sensitive screen. However there are numerous protective covers that can help stop such expensive mishaps! But the Blackberry is extremely well made, it's strong and can withstand being thrown across the floor (not too literally though) or being jumbled about at the bottom of your handbag or shoved in your pocket! If security is an overriding factor, then the Blackberry wins hands down as it is believed to be the most secure smartphone currently available on the business market. Sadly, the iPhone still needs more work in that department!

So which is best, the Blackberry or iPhone? Well, it is a matter of personal choice as to what you want your phone to do. Both phones have features which they do better than the other. If you want a slick and super stylish mobile that does everything at the touch of a touch sensitive screen button, then pick up an iPhone. But if you want to get straight to business, then the Blackberry will be your best buy!

True Super Apps Are on the iPad, Not Blackberry

In the two weeks I have been using an iPad, it seems as if developers are really taking advantage of the larger screen and creating "Super Apps". What are Super Apps? According to Mike Kirkup, RIM's director of developer relations "It's about creating a new class of apps that are rich, contextual and heavily integrated into the other apps on the device." I haven't yet seen any app that really demonstrates this line of thinking on the Blackberry, but I have been very impressed with Good Reader's document sharing and integration of online file storage services on the iPad.

Super Apps is not a term you will find outside of the Blackberry Development community and it shouldn't be confused with specific iPad app - it simply represents a line of thought I have towards the iPad. The early fear before the iPad launch was that developers would merely port their apps to fit the bigger screen and charge for the benefit of making it native. So far developers are now coming to grips with the device, and programming innovative titles that couldn't reach their full potential on a smaller screen. Atomic Web is a desktop class browser comparable to Safari on OS X; the iWork suite puts other mobile office productivity title to shame on any platform.

Create An Ipad App

With the large screen it would be tempting for developers to simply port desktop apps to the iPad, but that hasn't happened yet for a number of reasons. First, the iPad is still a mobile device with limited processing power and finite battery life. Second, with desktop Application pricing averaging between - and iPad apps anywhere from $.99 - .99, how much will a developer risk on building an app that needs a hefty price to make a profit. What I think we are left with are increasingly sophisticated apps that go beyond the iPhone in complexity, but not quite true desktop apps. In the end, these Super Apps on the iPad, represent a new frontier of sophisticated but mobile software solutions.
