I believe in having fun, I just cannot believe in Birthday celebrations, I just do not get why you have to wait a whole year to celebrate life,
Just waking up in the morning every day is a great reason for celebration,
Application Development
And then the things we do to supposedly celebrate birthday, all of them the opposite of a celebration, as if we are so hung up on celebrating birthdays, we should be celebrating by doing thinks to extend our lives, and not going on a self destructive binge that steals away a few days of your life every time we go on one of those "celebrations'.
Just think about it for a moment. We go on a drinking rampage, causing irreparable damage to our brain, our stomach, our liver, our blood vessels, we act like fools and get stinking breath, stinking clothes, stinking attitude, and next day, we usually feel like we would rather be dead.
We engage in promiscuous activities with people that could just be bringing us closer to the grave. I mean; statistically 7 out of every ten people you ever get involved with sexually have or will have developed by the age of 25, some kind of sexually transmitted disease; which could go from a simple wart, to Gonorrhea, syphilis, Hepatitis B or even Aids.
We should truly do our homework before we even go around kissing someone in the mouth, as one simple kiss is sufficient to condemn you to a life of pain.
We either eat excessively, or don't eat at all; we miss a lot of our vital sleep, and let us not talk about drug abuse.
Statistics shows that every "normal" birthday celebration, steals an average of 7 days off the life of a person. And you dare to call it Birthday celebration; we should call it Birthday suicidal tendencies.
Celebration does not require a special day, or any of the above aberrations, it just takes the wonderful realization that we are special children of God, made in his own image, that we have thousands of miles of veins in our body through which our precious blood runs in such an intricate pattern that only the great architect of life could have created it. It is looking at a clear sky in the Morning and seeing the beauty of this majestic world and this marvelous life.
We can celebrate with friends and family, or just alone in a quiet corner of hour home. We can celebrate watching a movie, or reading a book we like, sipping of a cup of tea at a restaurant, or contemplating people passing by on the streets.
Celebrating life is connecting with God and his creation, and letting our surroundings tell us how wonderful life is.
Yet we learn that a glass of wine is good for our health so we go and buy 6 bottles, and drink them all in one sitting. And we call it celebration; I call it terminal stupidity.
Somebody said once, wisdom is Application of knowledge in practical ways. So let us be practical and celebrate life every day, in ways that do not challenge our knowledge, so instead of being called fools, we would be called wise.
