Must-Have Halloween Apps for Your iPhone or iPod Touch

MU-AH-HA-HA-HA... Halloween is just around the corner; is your iPhone or iPad prepared? Whether Halloween is your favorite holiday or you just want a good way to scare your friends, you'll love these five apps from the App Store. They might come in handy for party game fun, or for a practical joke at your Halloween party. From sounds to visuals, these Halloween apps have everything except for the real live ghosts, goblins, and ghouls.

iAm Vampire

Create An Ipad App

Most of us have had enough of the "Twilight" series by now. However, if you're a teenage girl or just a die-hard fan, you'll have fun with IAm Vampire as you turn you and your friends into sparkly, Twilight-style vamps. If you've read the books or followed the movies at all, then you'll know that poor Bella Swan has been "dying" for hunky boyfriend Edward Cullen to turn her into a vampire. Alas, if she'd only coughed up

iAm Zombie

Along the same lines, but a little more creative, is the iAm Zombie app. As you can guess from the title, it turns your photo into a zombie, but it has far more options than the IAm Zombie app. You can choose from 20 different zombie-esque traits, including giving yourself blackened eyes, a bloody mouth, torn clothes, and so forth. The only drawback here is that it turns your photo into a cartoon, which of course is not quite as scary as it would be if you were still in true photo-form.

Scarfaced

Like the #5 and #4 choices, the Scarfaced app allows you to doctor your photo or your friend's photo to give yourself a scary look. However, this app makes it into our #3 slot because it's much more realistic looking, allowing you to play a good practical joke on your friends once you post your scarred, bruised face onto Facebook. The app includes over 25 different injuries, which you can rotate, shrink, or expand anywhere on your photo. For Halloween fun, Scarfaced includes a vampire bite injury.

100 Horror Stories

This app has 100 of the scariest stories and novels of all times, but it's more than just a book app. Besides Mary Shelley's Frankenstein, Bram Stoker's Dracula, and several Edgar Allan Poe stories, this app also contains 20 spooky sound effects that includes screams, thunderstorms, and others. Best of all, and the reason this app is #2, 100 Horror Stories has an "auot-scare" setting that will play random sounds when you're least expecting it, giving you or a nearby friend a good solid fright.

The Halloween Scream Machine

Our number one app choice for Halloween is The Halloween Scream Machine. This app is a perfect way to create the right ambience for your Halloween party, but you can also use it to play a few Halloween pranks. You can set a delay button on one of the scary sounds, then strategically place your iPad or iPhone where some unsuspecting victim will walk past just as the sound goes off. Best yet, you can record your own scary sounds and add them to the scary music tracks.

.99, she could have easily done it herself. The app gives you pale, sparkling skin, unearthly eyes, and finishes the job with a few fangs.
