What Happens During a Panic Attack

It's hard to put into words, the moment when it hits something inside you is grabbing your throat or something in your chest like your heart. It's like being hit by a bat without seeing it coming, and when it happens most think they're dying from a heart attack. The symptoms of panic attacks vary but the underlining suddenness and intensity is always the same.

When a panic attack happens it's sudden and without any noticeable causes. The symptoms are those associated with being incredibly frightened. Nausea, a tingling dreamlike sensation, lightheadedness, pains in the stomach, tightness in the chest, difficulty breathing and a racing heart are some of the more common symptoms of an attack. But there is one symptom that is shared by all sufferers. The fear of the next attack.
