iPhone 3GS Mobile Phone Review

The iPhone 3GS is the fastest smartphone from Apple, to date. Web pages and e-mail attachments download instantly and Applications are launched in no time. Faster processing and more advanced 3D graphics significantly improve gaming experience. Most of the Applications and tasks seen in the 3G are twice as fast in the 3GS.

This is the first Apple handset to offer video recording functionality and making a recording is as simple as tapping the touch-screen. The 3GS also comes complete with multimedia messaging and voice dialling features. Battery life is actually better than advertised, averaging out at around 600 minutes. The 3GS also supports WCDMA (UMTS) and GSM 850/900/1800/1900.

In terms of physical design, this product is very much the same as the iPhone 3G and the two models share the same shape and external controls. The iPhone 3GS weighs 4.76ozs, slightly heavier than the 3G, at 4.7ozs. The iPhone 3GS also has a fingerprint-resistant oleophobic coating, which means less fingerprints on the screen. The 3GS and 3G have very similar menu interfaces.

The 3GS has a 3-megapixel camera and as you point the lens toward the subject, a small box appears, to prompt you to adjust the contrast, colour and exposure. When you want to focus on the edge of the shot, you can move this square to the desired position by tapping at the preferred point. The entire frame will be covered if you don't tap anywhere.

The only disadvantage of owning the 3GS is the inability to view flash files in the Safari web browser as Adobe is yet to release a flash player Application for the phone.
