Mac Utilities to Recover Lost or Inaccessible Mac Data

Sometimes, when you start your Mac system, you may encounter various error messages on the screen, following which the system becomes completely inaccessible. These error messages indicate damaged or incompatible hard drive as the cause, for which the system has failed to boot. Usually, the Mac operating system flashes such error messages after any instance of operating system upgrade or sudden system shutdown. However, there are many innovative Mac data recovery software available in the market to retrieve the seemingly lost or inaccessible data back from the troubled Mac system.

In the above situations, the error messages that you encounter can be read as below:

Application Development

"This disk is damaged: Do you want to initialize it?"

Or

"This is not a Macintosh disk: Do you want to initialize it?"

There can be a number of reasons behind the above mentioned error messages. It can be possible that the partition structure of the Mac hard drive has been corrupted, for which the operating system is not able to recognize the partitions. There may be other reasons, such as operating system corruption, improper/incomplete up-gradation or deletion of important system files by virus/malware attack etc.

In any of the above situations, the operating system fails to reach various partitions on the hard drive and the data in the hard drive becomes completely inaccessible. If the problem has occurred due to improper or incomplete operating system up-gradation, then you can try re-installing the operating, which may solve the problem completely.

However, if the reason behind the problem is the corruption of the file system, then you need to run the 'Disk Utility' Application, with appropriate commands. This utility is meant to locate and repair the corruptions. But, in certain cases, when the file system corruption is very intense, Disk Utility even fails to repair the corruption and the drive remains inaccessible. In such cases, you need to format the drive and restore data from any previously taken valid backup.

In case, you do not have any backup copy of your data, still you can run any good Mac file recovery software to recover all your data back. These utilities are developed with many advanced techniques to scan the troubled hard drive/volumes and recover all the lost, deleted, formatted or inaccessible data back. Moreover, these utilities are completely safe on the data and do not even modify the format of the data, while recovering.
